Historical Review:

The 1st regiment of Moroccan Tirailleurs (infantry) or (1st RMT) was an infantry regiment belonging to the African Army, and which depended on the French army.
These elite troops were active between 1912 and 1965, and they excelled during the First World War, for whose action they were awarded with the Croix de Guerre (Cross of War) with five palms and one with a silver palm. After the First World War, the regiment received the medal of Chérifien military merit and the Croix de Guerre TOE (théâtre d’opérations exterieures) with a palm for its action in Morocco. Later, it took part in the Second World War, first in the French campaign and then in Italy, within the expeditionary corps of General Juin. It was then newly awarded with the Croix de Guerre with three palms and the Croix de Guerre (TOE) with one palm. In 1949 it received the Legion of Honour.
