Historical Review:

Miguel Cabanellas Ferrer (Cartagena, 1872 – Málaga, 1938) enlisted with his brother Virgilio in the General Military Academy of Toledo on August 28, 1889 and he went on to enter the Cavalry Academy of Valladolid on August 1, 1891. On March 9, 1893, he was promoted to the rank of second lieutenant’s. It was in Cuba where he first entered combat. In the year 1909, having reached the rank of captain, he went to Africa, where he excelled in that year’s campaign under the command of general Marina.
